Say THEIR names
How many more innocent Black people will be killed before things CHANGE!!
Tupac recorded a song in 1992 and "Changes" was remixed and released in 1998, here we are 22 years later and his lyrics still ring out so loudly with truth.
After the death of Ahmaud Arbery and George Floyd I have been contemplating how I could best support and show love and support to my friends, coworkers and the black community.
I am White. I am privileged.
(I ask all of my other White Allies to realize that you need to be the change we want to see. We need to address our unconscious bias, we need to use our voice and we need to help those who are not present. Not all racism is so “apparent” and we cannot ignore hundreds of years of systemic internalized racism.)
I painted this portrait of TUPAC in 2008. For the last 12 years I have had it because I wasn't ever able to sell it for what I "felt it was worth." It is no longer about a specific amount to me it is about a CAUSE worthy of donating to. My art was created by me but I want, more than anything for it to benefit the lives of many! Please consider that not only is this auction for a sweet Tupac Portrait but it is to help benefit and strengthen the political voice of African Americans.
The Silent Auction
This an original 24"x36" Acrylic Painting of TUPAC which I have titled, "Changes" that will be Auctioned off and shipped free of charge to the highest bidder on Juneteenth June 19th, 2020.
100% of the donation amount will be donated directly to the amazing organization: "COLOR OF CHANGE"
