September 26th, 2020 will go down in the record books for sure! When Colleen and August originally reached out to me to photograph their wedding it was going to be another place and another time. COVID-19 definitely changed everyone's world and plans. This amazing couple decided well, I guess we could just buy an epic house and throw it in the backyard instead. SO, THAT THEY DID!
The day had a 15% chance of rain that turned into a 100% chance right before the ceremony. This couple has a ton of amazing people in their lives who swooped in to quickly assemble tents and allow the wedding ceremony to proceed as planned. I cannot believe how powerful it was to see you all keep a great attitude throughout the day and truly let your love run the day and not let anything hinder your experience!
It was wet, it was wild, SOOOOOO many White Claws were killed in the making of this marriage. HAHAHA I feel so unbelievably grateful to have been the one to capture the wedding day festivities and cannot wait to share the wedding gallery with you all.
Have you said this to yourself?
I will never forget discussing the price of a wedding album with our wedding photographer. My wife and I were quite budget conscious and at one point thought, "We do not want or need prints or a wedding album. We are ALREADY paying thousands of dollars for photography" So we didn't order it. A year passed and my wife made us a wedding book through shutterfly and I liked seeing the images in there. The book was not cheap but it is also not high quality by any means either. It will not withstand the test of time if people were to flip through it. I am pretty sure one of our kids ripped one of the pages in it :(
For my first several weddings as a professional photographer I didn't really talk a whole lot about prints or albums because I assumed everyone shared my beliefs in how RIDICULOUS and expensive a Photo Album is. But, after I saw the quality of the first "REAL" album I designed, had printed and delivered, I was changed. This couple sat down with this book and saw the images and almost teared up. This album with a leather bound custom cover, thick pages and matte finish print was absolutely beautiful. The album itself was a piece of art.
Every time I photograph a wedding there are always grandparents or moms and dads who have been married for 30+ years and I always imagine if they had an album printed like the ones that I deliver to my wedding couples they would be so excited to show it off until they couldn't anymore and then pass it down to the younger generations.
An Album costs a lot, yes, but it is not wasted money. It is an investment into your future happiness. You are investing into an item that will bring hundreds of smiles for years to come. Think about what is going on in the world right now. If you could pick up a photo album that 100% guaranteed a smile, chuckle or little tear of joy would you buy it? Is $300 worth it? YOU BETTER BELIEVE IT IS! I understand that money doesn't come easy to us all and I get that you have spent a TON on your wedding but, know, that printed wedding photography especially in the form of a wedding album is not wasted money. If you can pay $300-$2000 for a cake that you will literally "Eliminate" within 24-48 hours why not invest in something that will bring joy for decades? Did you notice I just said eliminate instead of poop? That was fun.
If you have any questions about album options please reach out. I am even willing to design custom albums for those who have already gotten married. So whether you are engaged and considering an Album in your wedding photography package or looking for a great Anniversary Gift to your spouse of 5-10 years. GET THE ALBUM. DO IT! INVEST! You will not regret it.
Below are examples of a Classic Wedding Album that come with several of my wedding photography packages and can also be purchased starting at $300.

May 23rd was an absolutely amazing day to celebrate Jake and Dana. The wedding ceremony took place at the Free Grace Bible College in Elk River MN. Because of the global pandemic and unknown status of COVID-19, Jake and Dana were forced to restrict their wedding ceremony to 10 people or less. As they prepared in the morning for this abbreviated wedding ceremony and for the reception to be held at a later date it became clearer that the weather was not going to let the ceremony occur outside.
These events were not going to stop Jake and Dana from proceeding down the aisle to say their "I do's" in front of the most important people to them. It did not matter that COVID destroyed plan A and Mother Nature wouldn't allow plan B. This amazing go-with-the-flow couple forged ahead with plan C and it was absolutely beautiful.
After the ceremony the rain stopped clouds lifted and we were able to get stunning family portraits as well as beautiful images of the newlyweds
Please enjoy a couple photos from their wedding day. If you are interested in seeing their entire wedding gallery once it is released you may register below:

The Boser Wedding
Glaring at the weather forecast all week we thought it was going to be a rainy day but rain or shine this beautiful couple was going to get married. It ended up being overcast but stayed perfectly dry until we started POPPING BOTTLES with this group! Rebecca and Aaron have extremely supportive friends and family members that made this day so unbelievably special, A perfect early Fall day for a perfect couple. After 8 years of love and sharing that love through Vikings game days on Sunday these two are now called the Boser's. They both believe that the other is the kindest person they have ever met and I felt that kindness from them on September 29, 2018.
I was honored to be their chosen twin cities wedding photographer and would not have been able to capture the day without the help of my lovely assistant, Kate Lynner. Also this couple had a pretty sweet line up of vendors which all made the day possible. Shout out to:

After living in Andover, Minnesota for several years with two young daughters and working as a Professional Family Photographer owning ADH Creative Solutions LLC, I have learned that we have access to some pretty beautiful parks that are very close by in the north of Minneapolis suburbs. Most people love Minnesota because of the amazing lakes. After all, we do have just a couple of them. When you think about where to take family photos it is important to think about the types of photos you are looking to have taken. Are you a fan of natural backgrounds? Do you want or need to bring any props? Is there an activity that you love to do as a family that allows people to see your personalities? I think it is important to leave yourself with a couple different options which is why I love these three parks so much.
1. Bunker Hills Park, Andover
My favorite, by far, and also highest requested location is hands down, Bunker Hills Park. It is a wonderful park with a ton of area and different types of scenery. If you are interested in large trees this park has you covered. It has a small playground, walking paths and a concrete staircase that makes for some really cool photos as well. It has lots of wildflowers and a large picnic pavilion.Ohh and a tank, yes a TANK! I have never come across any other park that can say this. It is an Anoka County Regional park so it does require a season pass or a $6 entry fee.
2. Lion's Coon Creek Park, Coon Rapids
If you are looking for a spectacular natural area and a lot of greenery then we have another gem right off Hanson and Highway 10 and that is Lions Coon Creek Park. This park is beautiful during the summer with lush greenery and offers pretty vibrant fall colors as well. My favorite element of this park is its bridge! I have always loved family photos on bridges. A random tip about this park is the mosquitos are INTENSE during the summer so make sure you pack bug spray or you will get eaten up.
3. Lake George Regional Park, Oak Grove
If you are looking for a mixture of great landscapes, beautiful trees and also want to take some photos in the water than you need to think about a different type of park. Lake George Regional Park has multiple elements which are fantastic for family photos. It has a dock, playground, picnic area and beach. It is also an Anoka County Regional park so it does require a season pass or a $6 entry fee.
So there you have it. Three great parks for Andover family photos. If you are interested in booking a photoshoot with a local Family Portrait Photographer then Adam Hymans of ADH Creative Solutions LLC will gladly help you out. To view portfolio click here.
A Preview of the Perfect Day...
With friends and family gathered at Jean Acres in Ellsworth, WI, they had the most beautiful setting for their special day. Rustic Barn, massive chicken cookers, beautiful scenery and beer flowing all day. I could not have imagined a better celebration of love for these two! I know that they will have a lifetime full of love and happiness.
